Job summary

Human Appeal seeks a Director of Finance to provide strategic financial guidance, develop policies, and oversee day-to-day finance operations in the USA and globally. You will drive budgeting, reporting, and systems controls to ensure financial health and compliance.

As a senior leader, you will work with the SLT to shape strategy, manage risk, and improve efficiency while delivering timely insights to support growth and long-term stability for HA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting.
• CPA is required.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant finance experience.
• Experience with nonprofit or public sector.
• Experience with financial management in developing countries.
• MS Office proficiency; Salesforce, SAGE, NAVision desirable.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the operational management of the Finance department.
• Provide a key role in driving strategy and performance as a member of the Senior Leadership Team.
• Drive financial planning by analyzing performance and risks.
• Maintain awareness of financial position and prevent problems.
• Prepare timely, detailed reports on financial performance quarterly and annually.

• Ensure regulatory compliance and audit recommendations.
• Oversee data processing and maintenance in HA systems (Salesforce, SAGE, NAVision).

JOB OBJECTIVES

AsDirector of Finance, the successful candidate will play an integral role in contributing to the attainment of Human Appeal's (HA) objectives by providing strategic and financial guidance to ensure that the organization's financial commitments are met, including developing all necessary policies and procedures to ensure sound financial management and control. To manage the day-to-day operations of the Finance department, while helping to drive business success byprovidingthe financialinsights that lead to better commercial decisions in the USA, as well as forHA'sglobal offices. Toestablishstrategies that will increase income, oversee accounting operations, produceaccuratereports on where money is going within thebusinessand improve or change current practices to increase efficiency. All with a view to ensuring the stability of HA's finances, along with its long-term financial health and growth.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Responsibilities include, but are not limitedto:

• Oversee the operational management of the Finance department

• Provide a key role in driving the strategy and performance of the organization, as a member of the Senior Leadership Team

• Drive the financial planning of the company by analyzing its performance and risks

• Retaining constant awareness of the company’s financial position and acting to prevent problems

• Preparetimelyand detailed reports on financial performance on a quarterly and annual basis

• Conduct analysis to produce budgets and forecasts, and report on these atBoDandBoTlevel

• Ensure the financial compliance of the organization, in line with relevant legislation, regulation, and audit recommendations

• Oversee the timely and accurate processing and maintenance of financial data on HA computer systems (Salesforce, SAGE, NAVision)

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor's Degreerequired;Master'sDegreepreferred.

• Minimum8years of experience inrelevant Finance discipline

• Certified PublicAccountantrequired

• (ACA; ACCA; CIMA)preferred

• Significant Senior-level financial leadership,managementand oversight experience

• Experience with, or exposure to, the non-for-profit or public sector

• Experience with, or exposure to,financial managementin developing countries

• MS Office Suite. Experienced user of financial databases and systems.Previousexperience using Salesforce, SAGE, andNAVisionis desirable

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Visual acuity to use a keyboardand view a computer terminal. Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm,handand finger dexterity, including ability to grasp.

• May require ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit otherlocations;or the ability to stand and walk.

• Ability to occasionally lift, carry and/or move light to medium weight up to twelve (12) pounds and/or exert up to twelve (12) pounds of force.
