Job summary

Pyramid Global Hospitality is opening the Virginia Guesthouse in Charlottesville, a 214-room property with 25,000 sq ft of event space. The Director of Finance will build and lead the hotel’s financial functions from the ground up, reporting to the General Manager and collaborating with the regional finance team.

The role requires 5+ years in hospitality accounting management, strong Excel and PeopleSoft skills, and the ability to mentor a finance staff while guiding strategic decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business studies required; Master’s or CPA preferred.
• 5+ years of accounting management experience in hospitality or related industry.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Proficiency in Excel and accounting software; experience with PeopleSoft preferred.
• Knowledge of GAAP, FLSA, and Pyramid SOPs; compliance awareness.

Responsibilities

• Lead all finance and accounting functions including budgeting, forecasting, reporting, cash flow, payroll, and audits.
• Support the pre-opening process by building internal financial SOPs, setting up systems, and vendor/contract reviews.
• Ensure accurate, timely monthly P&L, balance sheet reconciliations, forecasts, and ownership reports.
• Develop and manage internal controls for F&B, payroll, purchasing, credit, inventory, and cash handling.
• Partner with the hotel’s Executive Team to monitor KPIs and align financial goals with strategy.
• Maintain compliance with GAAP, FLSA, and Pyramid SOPs; regulatory adherence.
• Collaborate with corporate/ownership to provide transparency into financial performance and projections.
• Recruit, train, and manage the hotel’s finance team (A/P, A/R, payroll); mentor and develop staff.
• Contribute to the Executive Committee with strategic financial oversight.

This role presents an exciting opportunity to contribute to the launch and success of a high-profile hotel and conference center in Charlottesville, VA.The Director of Finance will oversee all aspects of financial planning, analysis, reporting, and controls for Virginia Guesthouse Hotel and Conference center, full-service hotel.
