KBW is partnering with a Boston-based investment management firm to recruit a Director of Finance who will lead FP&A, budgeting, forecasting, and strategic financial planning. The role offers high visibility and the opportunity to influence senior leadership decisions in a sophisticated financial services environment.

Hybrid Boston location; strong communication and mentoring skills required. Reporting to the CFO, you will drive long-range planning, profitability analyses, and KPI reporting

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Lead the firm’s budgeting, forecasting, long-range planning, and financial modeling processes.
• Develop forward-looking analyses to identify financial risks, opportunities, and cost exposures.
• Partner with senior leadership to evaluate business performance, strategic initiatives, hiring plans, technology investments, and resource allocation through scenario modeling and financial analysis.
• Conduct financial and profitability analyses across business lines and investment products.
• Evaluate the financial implications of different pricing structures, asset levels, and growth scenarios.
• Provide oversight and mentorship to members of the Finance team, ensuring high-quality analytical output.
• Enhance management reporting, dashboards, and KPIs to improve transparency and decision-making.
• Support executive management with Board and leadership reporting on financial performance and strategic priorities.
• Drive improvements in financial planning, reporting, data analytics, automation, and business intelligence capabilities across the Finance function.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
• 10+ years of progressive finance experience, including significant FP&A experience.
• Experience within asset management, investment management, financial services, or a similarly complex financial environment.
• Demonstrated success leading budgeting, forecasting, strategic planning, and financial modeling processes.
• Advanced financial modeling and analytical capabilities.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to present financial insights to senior leadership.
• Experience managing or mentoring finance professionals is preferred.
