Job summary

Unlimited Service Group in Bloomington, MN is seeking a Director of Finance to serve as the senior finance partner to branch and operational leaders. You will lead budgets, forecasts, financial analysis, and performance reporting; explain what drives results; and partner with Corporate Finance on reporting and controls.

This full-time role reports to the VP of Finance, requires about 20% travel, and offers comprehensive benefits as part of a strong company culture.

Qualifications

• Eight+ years of progressive experience in finance, accounting, or FP&A.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Led budgets, forecasts, financial analysis, and business performance reviews.
• Partnered with operational leaders in a multi-location business.
• Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills; experience with ERP and reporting systems.
• Communicate financial results clearly to non-finance leaders and build trust across teams.
• Exercise sound judgment, develop people, and ensure accurate reporting and controls.
• CPA, CMA, MBA or related advanced qualification preferred.
• Experience in field service, distribution, job costing, labor utilization, and branch profitability preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the financial performance and reporting for General Parts, serving as the senior finance partner to its leadership team.
• Lead the General Parts finance team, setting priorities, reviewing its work, and developing team members.
• Partner with Corporate Accounting to ensure General Parts transactions and financial reports are accurate, timely, and prepared in accordance with GAAP.
• Review monthly results, investigate significant variances, and explain performance, risks, and recommended actions to General Parts leadership.
• Oversee the annual budget and forecasts for General Parts in coordination with segment FP&A and operational leaders.
• Monitor revenue, labor, overhead, margins, and profitability by branch and service line, including technician utilization and service and parts margins.
• Strengthen financial controls and data quality, including reporting for time-and-materials, contract, and warranty service revenue.
• Evaluate pricing, contracts, cost improvements, capital investments, and expansion opportunities with branch and operational leaders.

The Job at a Glance

As Director of Finance for General Parts, you will be the senior finance partner to our branch and operational leaders. You will lead budgets, forecasts, financial analysis, and performance reporting; explain what drives results; and help teams improve profitability. You will partner with Corporate Finance and Accounting on reporting and controls. This full-time position is based in our Bloomington, Minnesota office, reports to the Vice President of Finance, and requires approximately 20% travel. Corporate functions retain responsibility for cash forecasting, treasury, tax, and consolidated financial reporting.

A Typical Day

To Land This Opportunity

• You have at least eight years of progressive experience in finance, accounting, or financial planning and analysis
• You have a bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• You have led budgets, forecasts, financial analysis, and business performance reviews
• You have partnered with operational leaders in a multi-location business
• You have advanced Excel and financial modeling skills and experience with ERP and reporting systems
• You communicate financial results clearly to non-finance leaders and build trust across teams
• You exercise sound judgment, develop people, and value accurate reporting and effective controls
• CPA, CMA, MBA, or related advanced qualification is preferred
• Experience in field service, distribution, job costing, labor utilization, and branch profitability is preferred
