Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in a relevant field.
  • Five+ years in instruction or faculty development in higher education.
  • Teaching experience.
  • Finalists must participate in an on-campus simulated instructional consultation.

Responsibilities

  • Partners with faculty to improve teaching practice across the School.
  • Engages faculty in development opportunities including observations and workshops.
  • Contributes teaching and faculty development perspective to strategy.
  • Supports faculty with syllabus development and equitable instruction.
  • Assists course improvements based on observed practice and feedback.
  • Develops professional learning experiences for HGSE faculty.
  • Mentors new instructors and coordinates the New Faculty Teaching Institute.
  • Leads Teaching Fellows programming and resources.
  • Showcases innovation in teaching through outreach channels.
  • Creates web and print resources for HGSE instructors.
  • Shapes the ISD portfolio by prioritizing new requests.
  • Advises on teaching and mentoring skills with Faculty Affairs.
  • Keeps abreast of pedagogy developments to inform programs.
  • Collaborates on strategic university projects and teaching initiatives.
  • Provides leadership on complex projects and stakeholder communication.
  • Manages temporary and term staff in ISD.
  • Mentors doctoral and graduate fellows.
  • Leads and participates in other academic projects as assigned.
