Director of Faculty Engagement, Health Sciences Description

The Director of Faculty Engagement plays a central role in supporting the success of online adjunct faculty and ensuring high-quality student learning experiences throughout the Health Sciences Program. Reporting to the Operations Manager for Online Faculty Affairs, this position focuses on faculty development, classroom oversight, and consistent engagement to align faculty performance with institutional standards and student success goals. This is a non-teaching position.

Responsibilities
  • Support the Operations Manager for Online Faculty Affairs in managing online adjunct faculty, ensuring adherence to institutional policies and expectations.
  • Oversee adjunct classroom instructional delivery, including course setup, active engagement, gradebook management, timely grading, quality feedback, and accurate final grade submission.
  • Provide onboarding and ongoing professional development for adjunct faculty, including orientation, teaching strategies, and clarification of faculty expectations.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for adjunct faculty regarding classroom concerns, policy interpretation, and communication.
  • Assist in facilitating virtual group and one-on-one meetings with adjunct faculty for training, updates, and performance support.
  • Lead department-level initiatives to encourage adjunct collaboration and foster a sense of belonging within the department and institution.
  • Provide regular updates on faculty performance to the Operations Manager for Online Faculty Affairs and assist with annual performance observations.
  • Collaborate with the Operations Manager and Coordinator of Faculty Scheduling to provide feedback that ensures quarterly schedules maximize the use of high-performing faculty.
  • Contribute to department initiatives, attend academic leadership meetings, and complete other duties as assigned.
