Job summary

Peckham is seeking a Director of Facilities in Lansing, MI to provide strategic leadership, operational direction, and continuous improvement of facilities, grounds, and related services across locations.

The role oversees multiple teams, manages budgets, and ensures safety, compliance, and sustainable operations in a mission-driven nonprofit setting. A Bachelor's degree and 5+ years in facilities leadership are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in facilities management, construction management, engineering, architecture, business administration, occupational safety, project management, or related field.
• 5+ years of progressively responsible experience in facilities management, operations, or related functions.
• 5+ years of leadership experience managing teams.
• Experience managing operational budgets, capital projects, vendors, and initiatives.
• Knowledge of regulatory compliance, accreditation standards, audit methodologies, and risk management.

Responsibilities

• Direct daily operations of the Facilities Department across maintenance, grounds, projects, workplace experience, procurement support, safety, compliance, and security.
• Provide coaching, mentorship, performance management, and development to employees.
• Set priorities and execute facilities strategies supporting growth, safety, experience, accessibility, sustainability, and service excellence.
• Oversee maintenance, preventive programs, major repairs, and capital improvements to keep facilities safe and cost-effective.
• Plan, budget, implement, and complete facilities projects, contracts, renovations, and infrastructure upgrades.
• Collaborate on budgets, capital expenditure plans, business plans, and long-range strategies.
• Oversee procurement, inventory, contracts, vendor relationships, and spending for resource stewardship.
• Lead safety, compliance, fire safety, emergency preparedness, security, and regulatory conformity in partnership with leadership.
• Ensure adherence to federal, state, local, licensing, accreditation, and environmental requirements.
• Drive workplace experience initiatives including space planning, signage, standards, and engagement.
• Oversee food service operations to align with wellbeing initiatives.
