Job summary

Park is seeking a Director of Facilities to oversee safe and efficient operations of rides, pools, buildings, and infrastructure. You will lead preventive maintenance, manage budgets, approve contractor agreements, and develop the Maintenance Manager to ensure daily readiness of the park for guests.

The role requires extensive facilities experience, budget management, and strong leadership skills to partner with park leadership and maintain uptime while controlling costs.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of facilities or maintenance experience.
  • 3+ years managing supervisors or managers; waterpark maintenance preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of pool filtration and water chemistry, ride and attraction mechanics, and electrical, HVAC, and plumbing systems.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and managing operating and capital budgets.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office as well as basic computer skills and app-based technology.
  • Able to obtain a valid OSHA-10 Certification, CPO/AFO Certification, and First Aid Certification.

Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day operations of the facilities department, ensuring safety and efficiency.
  • Oversee compliance checklists, safety standards, and regulatory requirements (OSHA, ADA, Fire Code, Health Dept., etc.).
  • Ensure compliance with state amusement ride inspection and insurance requirements, Health Department pool permits and inspections, and all regulatory audits.
  • Manage inspections, preventive maintenance, repairs, and emergency response protocols.
  • Set and approve the preventive maintenance program and work-order system, and hold managers accountable for its execution.
  • Develop and maintain emergency and disaster preparedness plans for the facilities department, including severe weather, power loss, and chemical or equipment emergencies.
  • Oversee the operation and maintenance of pool, ride, and building systems, including pumps, motors, valves, and filters.
  • Supervise building, plumbing, HVAC, Food & Beverage equipment, and general maintenance tasks.
  • Recruit, train, coach, schedule, and enforce policies while promoting a safety culture.
  • Lead, develop, and evaluate the Maintenance Manager; build succession plans and develop team members into future leaders.
  • Develop, own, and manage the facilities operating and capital budgets, track expenses, and maintain accurate records of inventories and work orders.
  • Build and maintain a long-range capital plan for asset repair and replacement, prepare capital requests, and lead off-season rehabilitation projects.
  • Coordinate facility projects with contractors, vendors, and departmental leadership.
  • Negotiate, approve, and manage vendor and contractor agreements, ensuring work meets cost, quality, schedule, and contract expectations.
  • Collaborate with all departments to support guest experience, resolve issues, and provide input for strategic planning.

Position Overview

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • 7+ years of facilities or maintenance experience required, including 3+ years managing supervisors or managers; waterpark maintenance experience preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of pool filtration and water chemistry, ride and attraction mechanics, and electrical, HVAC, and plumbing systems sufficient to diagnose issues and direct technicians.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and managing operating and capital budgets.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office as well as basic computer skills and app-based technology.
  • Able to obtain a valid OSHA-10 Certification, CPO/AFO Certification, and First Aid Certification.
  • Must be able to move throughout the property to diagnose and repair building or ride issues.
  • Must be able to work weekends, nights, and holidays.
  • Must be able to walk and stand for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions including direct sun, hot/cold temperatures, rain, wind, etc.
  • Bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching involved.
  • Must be physically able to perform repairs when needed.
  • Able to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects of at least 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to work well with others and communicate effectively.
  • Must be able to multi-task and be flexible in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED); bachelors' degree preferred.
