Job summary

Safran Defense & Space, Inc. in Camarillo seeks a Director of Facilities to lead the 45,000 sq ft campus, including a 5,000 sq ft Class 100–1000 wafer-fabrication cleanroom.

The role owns cleanroom environments, critical utility systems, and the general facility while guiding a small team in a regulated defense and semiconductor setting. You will manage preventive maintenance, ISO 14644 certification, EHS compliance, capital projects, and vendor contracts to protect uptime.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, chemical, or facilities engineering or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years in facilities or plant engineering, including semiconductor cleanroom responsibility.
• Experience operating and expanding cleanrooms with minimal disruption to operations.
• Strong command of HVAC/filtration, utilities, monitoring, ISO 14644 classification/certification.
• Ownership of preventative-maintenance and critical-spares programs.
• Familiarity with EHS and regulatory requirements (OSHA, hazmat, air/wastewater permitting).
• Willingness to be on call for facility and cleanroom emergencies, ITAR experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own day-to-day operation, maintenance, and reliability of the 45,000 sq ft facility and four suites, including the 5,000 sq ft cleanroom.
• Maintain cleanroom classification with particle monitoring, HEPA filtration, laminar flow, and environmental control.
• Plan and execute cleanroom expansions, reconfigurations, and facility upgrades with minimal disruption.
• Manage critical utilities (water, gases, vacuum, HVAC, electrical) and BMS/CMMS systems.
• Oversee maintenance staff and large vendor contracts; manage budgets and capital projects.
• Ensure EHS compliance (OSHA, hazmat, air/wastewater permitting) and ISO 14644 certification.
