Job summary

UrbanPromise is seeking the Experiential and Environmental Learning Director to lead experiential learning projects and environmental education for middle and high school students. The role includes coordinating with teachers, planning field trips, managing paddling activities, and supervising RiverGuides during summer.

The position requires a Bachelor’s Degree and experience in environmental education, youth development, and on-the-water activities, with strong public speaking and collaboration

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in an environmental science-related field.
• Preferred experience in environmental education, environmental work in an urban context, youth development, and/or outdoor education and adventure experience both on land and water.
• Public speaking, office technology, strong networking and interpersonal communication, time management, teamwork/collaboration, supervision of staff, cultural sensitivity.

Responsibilities

• Uphold and integrate UrbanPromise’s values into the program.
• Collaborate with middle school teachers to integrate experiential learning.
• Lead environmental education classes, programs, and field trips.
• Lead paddling and on-the-water activities with coordination.
• Support grant planning and report outcomes.
• Pursue professional training and development opportunities.
• Participate in staff meetings and organizational events.
• Adhere to personnel policies and performance evaluations.
