Director of Event Technology I - Embassy Suites East Peoria

Position Overview

The Director, Event Technology (SNE) is responsible for achieving revenue and profitability goals of the assigned location(s). This role ensures the team delivers world-class service while maintaining strong relationships with key venue personnel to enhance business relationships. The DET promotes high performance, accountability, continuous improvement, and fosters a collaborative environment focused on learning and quality. This position manages less than two full-time team members, oversees venue revenue under $3M, and reports to an Area Director, Regional Director, or RVP, Venues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Venue Partner Relationships: Develop and maintain strong client relationships, provide outstanding customer service, act as a point of escalation, and support contract renewals.
  • Financial Management & Reporting: Manage operations efficiently to maximize revenue and profit, control costs, and utilize financial reports for decision-making.
  • Operations Management: Oversee daily venue operations, equipment setup, and service delivery, ensuring standards are met and equipment challenges are addressed proactively.
  • Technical Ability: Apply troubleshooting skills to resolve equipment/software issues, and serve as on-site technician if needed.
  • Sales Management: Develop strategies to maximize revenue, prepare proposals, and support customer meetings.
  • Customer Service: Maintain relationships with customers, ensure equipment and service quality, and meet guest needs onsite.
  • People Development: Promote a culture of high performance, manage performance and staffing, and provide coaching and training.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • 3+ years audio visual experience.
  • 1+ years supervisory experience.
  • Customer service or hospitality experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of AV equipment and troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency in computer hardware and software, including Microsoft Office.
  • Valid driver’s license required for vehicle operation.

Physical & Work Environment

Salary Range

$45,947 - $56,306, based on experience and qualifications. Benefits and additional compensation details available.
