The Emerald Peek Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Peekskill, NY is seeking an experienced Director of Environmental Services (EVS) to lead our housekeeping and environmental services team. This full-time role oversees operations and ensures a clean, safe environment for residents, visitors, and staff.

Responsibilities include supervising staff, scheduling, maintaining sanitation standards, managing budgets, and collaborating with nursing and leadership to maintain regulatory readiness.

Qualifications

• Experience in Environmental Services or housekeeping management.
• Healthcare or Long‑Term Care leadership preferred.
• Proven ability to supervise staff and manage priorities.
• Knowledge of sanitation, safety, and infection control practices.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the Environmental Services and Housekeeping Department.
• Supervise, schedule, train, and evaluate housekeeping and environmental services staff.
• Ensure all resident rooms, common areas, offices, and spaces are maintained to high cleanliness standards.
• Develop and maintain cleaning schedules, procedures, and department workflows.
• Monitor compliance with infection prevention and control policies.
• Ensure proper handling, storage, and use of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
• Maintain adequate inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment while managing department expenses.
• Conduct routine inspections and audits to ensure quality standards are met.
• Address environmental concerns and implement corrective action plans as needed.
• Collaborate with nursing, maintenance, infection prevention, and facility leadership.
• Participate in regulatory surveys and maintain continuous survey readiness.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations.

The Emerald Peek Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is seeking an experienced and motivated Director of Environmental Services (EVS) to lead our housekeeping and environmental services department.

The Director of EVS will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, sanitary, and welcoming environment for our residents, visitors, and staff. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands‑on leader with strong management and healthcare environmental services experience.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in Environmental Services, Housekeeping Management, or a related leadership role required.

• Healthcare, Skilled Nursing Facility, Long-Term Care, or Rehabilitation experience strongly preferred.

• Proven experience supervising and managing staff.

• Strong knowledge of cleaning, sanitation, infection prevention, and safety practices.

• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced healthcare environment.

• Experience with budgeting, inventory management, and staff scheduling preferred.

• Must be hands‑on, dependable, detail‑oriented, and able to lead by example.
