Job summary

SHINE Technologies LLC seeks an experienced Director of Engineering to lead the UNF recycling pilot facility design, licensing with the NRC, and equipment procurement. You will drive safety, reliability, and process integration in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team on a strategic, budget-conscious plan.

The role requires a strong background in nuclear chemical processes, safety analysis, and regulatory engagement, with a base salary of $175,000–$225,000 and a comprehensive compensation

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Nuclear Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline.
• Ten years or more of relevant engineering experience.
• Experience designing or selecting equipment for harsh environments.
• Familiarity with nuclear industry design, operations, and regulatory requirements.
• Ability to manage multiple activities and priorities.

Responsibilities

• Build the core engineering team for SHINE’s UNF recycling business unit.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary team to progress design and licensing of UNF recycling pilot facility.
• Maintain documentation on baseline design, including facility design requirements and process flow.
• Develop equipment data sheets and specifications for vendors and partners.
• Provide input to project goals, schedule, and budget.
• Participate in hazard and operability studies (HAZOPs) and design reviews.
• Guide equipment layout to maximize process efficiency, safety and maintenance.
• Identify technical risks and communicate mitigation plans to senior management.
• Mentor junior engineers.
