This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of Boulevard. We are currently looking for a Director of Engineering (Data) in USA & Canada.

This is a strategic leadership opportunity to build and scale a data platform that powers products, insights, and customer experiences across a growing tech company in the self-care industry. As Director of Engineering (Data), you will own the architecture and operations of the data ecosystem—ensuring it is scalable, secure, and aligned with both customer-facing and internal needs. Collaborating cross-functionally, you’ll lead a team of engineers and shape the foundation for analytics, machine learning, and real-time processing. This remote-friendly role offers impactful work, a collaborative culture, and growth in a product-driven environment.

Accountabilities:

  • Define and lead the technical vision and strategy for the data platform, ensuring long-term scalability and reliability.
  • Manage and mentor a team of data engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, ownership, and excellence.
  • Build and maintain modern data infrastructure supporting real-time and batch processing, data pipelines, and APIs.
  • Collaborate with product and engineering teams to enable customer-facing analytics, dashboards, and reporting features.
  • Oversee data governance, lineage, quality control, and ensure compliance with regulations including HIPAA.
  • Develop frameworks for self-service data access, enabling internal stakeholders and teams.
  • Drive operational excellence with robust monitoring, alerting, and performance optimization practices.
  • Lead the foundation for AI/ML capabilities and machine learning operations across the company.
  • 10+ years of experience in data platform, infrastructure, or distributed systems engineering.
  • 5+ years in a leadership role managing high-performing engineering teams.
  • Deep experience with modern data stacks including dbt, Airflow, Snowflake, Kafka, and similar tools.
  • Proven success building platforms supporting both internal analytics and external data products.
  • Expertise in data governance, security, privacy (HIPAA), and quality frameworks.
  • Strong collaboration skills across engineering, product, and business stakeholders.
  • Strategic mindset and the ability to translate business goals into technical execution plans.
  • Experience in building customer-facing analytics features is a strong advantage.
  • Competitive total compensation between $200,000 and $288,000 USD depending on skills, experience, and market factors
