Job summary

Walgreens is seeking a Director, Software Quality Engineering and Enablement based in Deerfield, Illinois with a hybrid work model. The role leads SDET teams to shift quality left, embedding quality into architecture, development, and deployment.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
10+ years of software engineering, test automation, or quality engineering.
5+ years of people leadership experience.
Experience integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines at scale.
Willing to travel up to 10%.

Responsibilities

Lead a high-performing SDET organization focused on engineering enablement.
Define and execute Walgreens’ engineering quality strategy.
Establish operating model for SDETs with product and engineering teams.
Build capability through hiring, coaching, succession planning, and skills development.
Oversee the design and maintenance of scalable automated testing frameworks and tools.
Embed automated testing into CI/CD pipelines with DevOps and platform teams.
