Job summary

Five Below in the United States is seeking a Senior Director of Engineering – MP&A and Finance to lead the engineering organization responsible for planning, allocation, and finance technology capabilities across the enterprise.

You will own strategy, architecture, delivery, reliability, and modernization of platforms and integrations supporting planning, inventory flows, procurement, approvals, and related data movement, partnering with MP&A, Finance, Product, and Data teams to drive

Qualifications

• 12+ years of progressive experience in software engineering, enterprise applications, or technology delivery with depth in retail, merchandising, planning, allocation, or finance.
• 7+ years leading managers/directors responsible for delivery and operations of enterprise platforms in a high-growth environment.
• Strong experience partnering with senior leaders to translate domain strategy into roadmaps, budgets, and measurable outcomes.
• Deep experience with enterprise integration and data ecosystems (API, event-driven, batch integration) and cloud-native services.
• Proven engineering leadership in reliability, CI/CD, observability, and incident/problem management.
• Experience operating within governance, risk, compliance, SOX-aware environments, with automated controls.
• Proven ability to manage budgets, vendors, and blended onshore/offshore delivery models.
• Excellent communication and executive presence to align technical and business priorities.

Responsibilities

• Lead multi-year technology strategy and define investment priorities for MP&A and Finance domains.
• Own end-to-end delivery and operations for mission-critical MP&A and Finance capabilities with strong IT governance.
• Drive modernization across the platform ecosystem, including API/event-driven integrations and cloud efficiency.
• Oversee architecture, platforms, and data pipelines across Oracle and third-party solutions, ensuring reliability and cost optimization.
• Manage vendor and partner relationships, budgets, and performance, with a focus on secure, auditable changes.
• Coach and develop a high-performing engineering organization capable of scaling with Five Below’s growth.
