Job summary

Kentucky Trailer, part of Marmon Holdings, seeks a Director of Engineering to lead all engineering functions at the Wixom, MI facility. This hands‑on executive will steer product and manufacturing engineering, process improvements, automation initiatives, and capital projects to drive productivity and cost efficiency.

The role partners with Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, Sales, and Leadership to deliver innovative solutions, improve product performance, and support long‑term growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering field is required.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• 10+ years of progressive engineering leadership in manufacturing.
• Experience with process improvement, automation, capital projects, and product development.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering managers and engineers to set priorities and allocate resources.
• Oversee product development, manufacturability, reliability, and cost‑effectiveness.
• Manage capital projects, budgets, ROI analyses, and implementation plans.
• Partner with Quality and Operations to resolve issues and ensure safety.
• Develop and manage the engineering department budget and cost savings.
• Direct supervision of multiple engineering roles and talent development.
