Job summary

GitLab is seeking a leader for the Database Excellence stage who will report to the VP of Data Engineering. You will own the reliability, capacity, health, and sustainability of GitLab's application datastores, guiding strategy and day-to-day execution.

You will set direction for the database platform, manage capacity and risk communication to senior leadership, and hire and develop managers across regions to scale our data services.

Qualifications

• Experience leading managers of managers and coaching newer managers.
• Hands-on PostgreSQL at scale with capacity planning, upgrades, replication, and production clusters.
• Strong written communication in an asynchronous, handbook-first environment.
