Job summary

Rnb Consultancy in Los Angeles seeks a hands-on engineering leader to architect and scale our software organisation for production systems in aerospace/defense. You will own the engineering org, shape architecture including ML and data products, and drive recruitment from your network and beyond.

The role demands hands-on coding and system design, on-site presence in LA, and 5–10 years of leadership experience. You will partner with the CEO to build a high-momentum tech operation.

• Led and scaled engineering teams, while coding and designing systems
• Experience applying cutting-edge tech like AI in large-scale production
• Willingness to be on-site in Los Angeles and work in US payroll
• 5–10 years of relevant experience and leadership capability

A fast-scaling, well-funded company in Los Angeles operates highly automated production facilities serving the aerospace and defense sectors. It reached eight-figure revenue in its first year. They're looking for the leader who builds their software organisation: setting the architecture, hiring the team and staying close to the factory floor.

What you'll own

• The engineering organisation, from today's team to many times its size
• Architecture for production software, including machine learning, optimisation and data products
• Hiring, from your own network and beyond
• Hands-on work on systems design and code, close to the factory floor

Must-haves

• At a company that clearly succeeded, you brought cutting-edge technology such as AI into large-scale use
• You've led and scaled engineering teams, and you still code and design systems yourself
• Working on-site in Los Angeles
• Authorized to work in the US, with no sponsorship needed
• Roughly 5–10 years of experience

Bonus points

• Manufacturing, logistics, aerospace or industrial software
• Machine learning in production, optimisation or data products
