LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with an established manufacturer in the Sarasota area to identify a hands-on Director of Engineering to lead a key engineering function.

This opportunity is best suited for someone who has led new product development within a manufacturing environment and enjoys staying close to the technical work, product lifecycle, and day-to-day execution.

What You’ll Own

• Lead new product development and ongoing product engineering initiatives
• Oversee products from concept and design through testing, manufacturing readiness, and launch
• Lead and develop an engineering team
• Manage engineering priorities, timelines, resources, and technical risk
• Partner closely with Operations, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, and other cross-functional teams
• Support continuous improvement, product quality, and manufacturability

What We’re Looking For

• 10+ years of progressive engineering experience
• Prior engineering leadership experience
• Strong background with physical manufactured products
• Proven experience taking products from concept through launch
• Hands-on leadership style with strong technical ownership
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field

Experience within complex manufacturing, industrial products, durable goods, electromechanical products, or similar environments would translate well.

The strongest candidates will be able to clearly speak to products they’ve personally helped develop and commercialize, including their involvement throughout the development and manufacturing process.

This is a fully onsite leadership role in the Sarasota area with occasional travel.
