Director of Engagement- African American Ministries

Position Summary

Serve churches and ministry partners with resources that encourage, enrich, equip, and engage Christ-followers, advancing God's kingdom locally and globally. Develop and deepen relationships with churches and strategic partners in the U.S. through various ministries and programs.

Essential Duties
  1. Conduct face-to-face meetings and communication with churches, pastors, chaplains, and key individuals, providing spiritual encouragement and strategic solicitation of financial resources.
  2. Develop effective church engagement and ministry partner strategies.
  3. Identify, build, and manage a portfolio of churches, organizations, and individuals.
  4. Implement moves management strategies to steward relationships.
  5. Meet individual and team goals to support organizational objectives.
  6. Coordinate with internal partners for resource stewardship and service improvement.
  7. Provide guidance and materials to create resources meeting the needs of churches and partners.
  8. Utilize CRM tools (e.g., MPX, Salesforce) to manage donor records and activities accurately.
  9. Engage leaders and staff to deepen connections and partnerships when appropriate.
  10. Collaborate with team members and stakeholders effectively.
Study, Knowledge, or Experience
  • Deep understanding of the Black church in America.
  • Connections with Black denominations, HBCUs, and Black campus ministries.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; master’s preferred.
  • Minimum five years of relevant experience in church, nonprofit, or ministry sectors, including preaching, public speaking, and meetings.
  • Experience in sales and donor development.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM systems like MPX and Salesforce.
  • Strong understanding of North American church and Christian nonprofits.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain organized records.
  • Passion for ministry areas such as church partnerships, multiethnic ministries, or chaplaincy programs.
  • Live in accordance with biblical principles, with ongoing spiritual growth.
