Job summary

Realta Fusion is seeking a Director of Electrical Engineering to lead the design, development and integration of high-power electrical systems for its magnetic mirror fusion devices. This senior technical role demands deep power systems expertise and the ability to scale from experiments to commercial deployment, while ensuring safety, reliability and cost objectives.

You will own the electrical engineering roadmap, mentor a growing team, manage budget and vendor relationships, and collaborate

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering; advanced degree preferred.
• 15+ years in electrical/controls engineering in power-intensive settings.
• 5+ years leading engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Define electrical engineering strategy from experimental devices through commercial deployment.
• Own technical decisions for power systems, distribution, magnet power supplies, plasma heating power systems, low-voltage electronics, and electrical system integration.
• Oversee PCB design and development in support of controls and diagnostics systems.
• Lead design reviews for high-power electrical systems, magnet power supplies, and plasma heating systems.
• Recruit top talent and develop engineering capabilities.
