We need a leader to harmonize this approach across various schools, elevate academic leadership, and become the spokesperson for this innovative learning science movement.
This role is not about theoretical academia; it's about hands-on leadership. You'll spearhead our academic strategy, setting benchmarks, spotting execution gaps, and guiding elite teams to tangible outcomes. Your mission is to transform our scientific principles into operational excellence and advocate for our model globally.
What You Will Be Doing
- Designing academic frameworks that convert learning science into actionable curriculum, motivation systems, and app design guidelines.
- Overseeing academic performance reviews alongside Heads of Academics to ensure school teams are synchronized, responsible, and achieving results.
- Analyzing data, conducting interviews, and observing to craft academic ecosystem evaluations that identify key barriers to accelerated learning and suggest practical solutions.
- Ensuring strategic alignment through meticulous planning, feedback mechanisms, and milestone monitoring to keep student learning objectives at the forefront.
- Representing 2 Hour Learning at top-tier events and with educational ministries, advocating for systemic educational change.

- Engaging in isolated curriculum projects without aiming for systemic change.
- Publishing theoretical research without focusing on student outcomes or practical application.
- Leaving performance accountability to middle management or external consultants.
- Depending on brand prestige or theory alone to convince skeptical audiences.
Director Of Educational Strategy Key Responsibilities
Enhance and expand 2 Hour Learning’s successful academic framework by synchronizing execution across educational institutions, bolstering leadership standards, and becoming the public advocate of a scientifically-backed movement with real-world impact.
Basic Requirements
- Advanced degree (Master’s or Ph.D.) in Learning Science, Educational Psychology, Instructional Design, or related fields.
- Over 7 years of leading academic or EdTech teams with proven exceptional learning results.
- Demonstrated experience in leveraging AI or technology to enhance learning.
- A history of public thought leadership through media, keynote speeches, publications, or advisory roles.
- Exceptional performance management skills, with the ability to maintain high standards among top-tier peers.
- Proficient in analyzing data to identify learning challenges and direct effective interventions.
- Skilled in engaging with students, parents, and educational leaders directly.
Nice-to-have Requirements
- Experience in founding or leading an innovative school model, lab school, or successful EdTech venture.
- Expertise in navigating cultural, political, or international education environments.
- In-depth understanding of Bloom’s 2 Sigma research and other mastery learning frameworks.

Working with us
This is a full-time (40 hours per week), long-term position. The position is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record. The compensation level for this role is $200 USD/hour, which equates to $400,000 USD/year assuming 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year. The payment period is weekly.
