Job summary

HeartShare in New York is seeking a Director of Education to lead high-quality educational services for students with special needs. You will supervise staff, drive program development, and ensure safety and policy implementation to foster an inclusive learning environment.

The role reports to the Senior Vice President of Education and requires strong organizational and leadership skills, with a focus on PBIS and a developmentally appropriate curriculum for young learners.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in education or related field is required.
• Advanced credentials in school building leadership required.
• Preschool special education experience of at least 2 years.
• New York State certification as Early Childhood Teacher or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Oversee supervision of teachers and aides with annual evaluations.
• Lead staff development and training programs.
• Ensure PBIS, developmentally appropriate curriculum.
• Monitor safety and facility maintenance.
• Engage families through regular communication and parent involvement.
