Job summary

The Met seeks a visionary leader to partner with the Deputy Director of Audience Engagement to advance education across The Met Fifth Avenue and The Met Cloisters. You will champion public programming, cultivate donors, and guide innovative learning initiatives to reach diverse audiences nationally and internationally.

You will oversee budgets, staff development, and cross-institution collaborations with educators, curators, and community partners.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in education or art history required.
• Minimum of 15 years’ management experience in a museum or cultural institution.
• Proven track record in donor engagement and mobilizing support from boards, volunteers, donors, and community leaders.

Responsibilities

• Envision and execute an education strategy that uplifts the museum’s mission and broadens access to programs.
• Lead and develop a diverse team of staff, interns, fellows, and vendors, providing growth opportunities.
• Drive fundraising, budget oversight, and partnerships with schools, donors, and cultural institutions.
