Job description

Director of Education

Full-Time | Remote-Friendly with Travel

About The Role

We’re looking for a restoration-savvy organizer and educator who thrives on execution, creativity, and bringing people together. As Director of Education, you’ll take ownership of our in-person and online learning experiences. You’ll produce live events, lead occasional workshops, convert hands-on content into digital courses, and help us lay the groundwork for a future trade school. You’ll work hand-in-hand with our Business Development Manager to turn education into a growth engine—for our customers, our brand, and our business.

What You’ll Do

In-Person Education

  • Coordinate monthly one-day workshops and quarterly multi-day bootcamps
  • Recruit and manage instructors; teach ~20% of events yourself
  • Coordinate venues, vendors, supplies, swag, meals, and logistics
  • Maintain a fun, welcoming, high-value learning environment
  • Ensure every event hits profitability, satisfaction, and brand goals

Online Course Production

  • Convert live workshops into online video courses
  • Deliver 1 mini-course (4–6 lessons) and 1 full course (12+ lessons) per year
  • Define course structure, lesson flow, and deliverables
  • Collaborate with our content and marketing teams on production & promotion
  • Monitor sales performance and student success

Operations & Strategy

  • Own workshop and course P&Ls
  • Track KPIs: attendance, profitability, NPS, revenue
  • Coordinate strategy and planning with Business Development Manager
  • Source sponsors, tools, and materials
  • Gather student feedback and constantly improve the experience
  • Build infrastructure for future certifications and trade school growth

Compensation

  • Base Salary: $60,000 to $65,000
  • Commission: 10% of gross profit from education division
  • Target Total Compensation: $70,000 - 90,000+ with performance
  • Workshop travel expenses covered

You’d Be a Great Fit If You

  • Have hands-on experience in historic restoration, carpentry, or related trades
  • Love teaching, mentoring, or running workshops
  • Are insanely organized and love spreadsheets as much as you love sawdust
  • Can lead a room, charm a crowd, and keep a tight schedule
  • Know how to work with marketing and content teams to make a vision real
  • Are excited to build something from the ground up
  • Are ready to help reinvent trades education for the 21st century
