Position Title: DIRECTOR OF DINING SERVICES II - K12 SCHOOL FOOD SERVICE POTENTIAL NEW BUSINESS - GIBSONIA, PA

Job Summary

Are you an energetic leader with a passion for redefining dining experiences? We're seeking a dynamic Director of Dining Services to lead our team in delivering outstanding service and unforgettable culinary adventures for a K-12 public school district. From strategic planning to operational excellence, you'll play a pivotal role in crafting the future of our dining services.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Manages salaried managers and hourly associates in the Food Service Department
  2. Oversees the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the account
  3. Interviews, hires, and trains associates; plans, assigns, and directs work; appraises performance; rewards and disciplines associates; addresses complaints and resolves problems
  4. Prepares and manages annual budget
  5. Utilize company systems for completion of required daily/weekly/monthly reports such as inventory, cash reports, production records, payroll/time-keeping, etc.
  6. Oversees and participates in the preparation and service of food and beverage items in adherence to company food standards for preparation, presentation, sanitation and safety (meeting HACCP and OSHA guidelines) and portion control
  7. Other duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. High School Diploma or equivalent is required. The minimum of an Associates Degree is required in a hospitality, nutrition or business degree plan WITH at least 3 years of proven experience managing the USDA K12 National School lunch program for a K12 food service operation.
  2. A Bachelor's Degree is preferred in either hospitality, nutrition, or business related field.
  3. Three years of direct food service operational management experience with inventory and purchasing knowledge and control
  4. Strong knowledge of food and catering trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation
  5. Previous P&L accountability or contract-managed service experience is desirable
  6. Strong supervisory, leadership, management and coaching skills
  7. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  8. Ability to communicate on various levels to include management, client, customer and associate levels
  9. Excellent financial, budgetary, accounting and computational skills
  10. Proficient computer skills to include; various computer programs, Microsoft Office programs, e-mail and the Internet
  11. ServSafe Certified
