Position Title: DIRECTOR OF DINING SERVICES II - K12 FOOD SERVICE POTENTIAL NEW BUSINESS - ST. LOUIS, MO

Job Summary

The Director of Dining Services is an energetic, entrepreneurial leader responsible for the successful operation of Dining Services for a potential new K12 food service account in the St. Louis area. The role involves ensuring client and customer satisfaction through efficient, cost-effective management of all food service activities, including school cafeterias, retail, and catering.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Manage salaried managers and hourly staff within the Food Service Department.
  2. Oversee the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the account.
  3. Hire, train, and evaluate associates; assign work; conduct performance appraisals; handle discipline and complaints; resolve issues.
  4. Prepare and manage the annual budget.
  5. Utilize company systems for reports such as inventory, cash flow, production, payroll, and timekeeping.
  6. Oversee food preparation and service, ensuring adherence to company standards, sanitation, safety (HACCP and OSHA), and portion control.
  7. Perform other duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • B.S. Degree in Food Services Technology/Management or related field; or A.A. Degree with four years of relevant experience per USDA guidelines.
  • Five to seven years of operational management experience in food service, with knowledge of inventory and purchasing.
  • Strong understanding of food and catering trends, quality, sanitation, cost control, and presentation.
  • Experience with P&L accountability or contract-managed services is desirable.
  • Leadership, supervisory, management, and coaching skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively across management, clients, customers, and staff.
  • Strong financial, budgeting, and accounting skills.
  • Proficiency in various computer applications, including Microsoft Office, email, and internet.
  • ServSafe Certification.
