Base pay range

$115,000.00/yr - $130,000.00/yr

Today, Assouline publications, special editions, and gift items can be found around the globe.

The Director of Digital Content is responsible for supporting the development and execution of the digital content strategy to enhance brand visibility and engagement across all digital platforms. This role involves leading a team of Social Media Manager and Digital Editor to produce high-quality, relevant, and compelling content that resonates with audiences. The Director will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with overall business objectives and to leverage analytics and insights to optimize content performance. Key responsibilities include overseeing the content calendar and ensuring adherence to brand guidelines and voice. Strong leadership, creativity, and communication skills are essential for driving innovative content initiatives and fostering a collaborative team environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive digital media strategy that aligns with Assouline's brand positioning, editorial vision, and business objectives.
  • Oversee the content strategy, production, and editorial calendar for Assouline's digital magazine, social media platforms, and podcast.
  • Maintain and evolve Assouline's brand voice, aesthetic, and storytelling approach across all digital touchpoints.
  • Collaborate with print editorial, design, and marketing teams to create visually compelling and editorially rich content.
  • Lead SEO-driven content initiatives to increase organic traffic and discoverability of Assouline.com.
  • Spearhead video and multimedia content initiatives, ensuring high-quality production and engagement.
Social Media Growth & Engagement
  • Develop and execute strategies to grow audience engagement across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn, Pinterest, and emerging platforms.
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of Assouline's social media accounts, ensuring best-in-class execution.
  • Monitor trends and cultural moments to integrate timely, relevant, and luxury-driven content.
  • Analyze engagement metrics and audience insights to optimize content and campaign performance.
Podcast & Multimedia Oversight
  • Oversee digital marketing and distribution strategies for The Culture Lounge Podcast and future audio initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to expand podcast reach, grow listenership, and develop multimedia extensions.
  • Work with production teams to ensure episodes are aligned with the Assouline brand and visually integrated across digital channels.
Performance & Analytics
  • Utilize analytics tools to track key performance indicators (traffic, engagement, conversions) and optimize digital content strategy accordingly.
  • Report on insights and digital trends, making data-driven recommendations for growth and engagement.
  • Conduct A/B testing and content experiments to refine strategy and maximize impact.
  • Lead and mentor digital team members.
  • Collaborate with internal teams across editorial, e-commerce, retail, hospitality, trade, PR, and marketing to drive cross-functional initiatives.
Qualifications & Experience:
  • 8+ years of experience in digital media, content strategy, or social media management for a luxury brand, media company, or cultural institution.
  • Proven track record of scaling audience engagement across multiple digital platforms.
  • Deep expertise in SEO, content marketing, and social media growth strategies.
  • Strong editorial judgment, writing, and editing skills with an eye for luxury storytelling.
  • Hands-on experience with video production, multimedia editing, and podcast marketing.
  • Proficiency in digital tools such as Google Analytics, Meta Business Suite, Sprout Social, Later, Adobe Creative Suite, and CMS platforms (Shopify).
  • Passion for culture, art, design, and luxury lifestyle industries.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
