Job summary

Confluence Philanthropy in New York City seeks a Development & Communications Director/Staff Writer to drive fundraising and external communications. You will translate complex philanthropy concepts into clear narratives across reports, publications, and digital media, ensuring timely delivery and compelling storytelling.

Reporting to the Managing Director, you will lead grant writing, annual reporting, and development planning while directing a cohesive communications strategy across media,

Qualifications

• Experience developing and executing funding strategies in philanthropy or non-profit sectors.
• Strong written and oral communication skills with ability to craft compelling narratives.
• Experience producing multi-channel communications including reports, press content and publications.

Responsibilities

• Grant writing: develop and submit funding requests with a range of partners.
• Reporting: create annual reports and grant reports with data-driven content.
• Development planning: lead fundraising plans and campaigns with the program team.
• Communications (40% time): design and disseminate print/online materials to promote brand and mission.
• Social media: manage platforms and coordinate member/staff content.
