Job summary

The City of Glenpool Development Services Department seeks a seasoned leader to plan, direct, and oversee planning, zoning, building inspections, and code enforcement. This role ensures compliance with laws while guiding growth in alignment with the city’s comprehensive plan.

The Director will manage budgets, coordinate with departments and agencies, and represent the city before officials and the public. AICP/PE preferred; five years of supervisory public planning experience required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning, Public Administration, Engineering, Environmental Science, Architecture, or related field.
• 5 years of progressively responsible experience in public planning and related areas; supervisory experience required.
• A valid driver’s license; AICP or PE certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, and evaluate the Development Services Department's activities.
• Develop departmental goals, policies, procedures, and work plans.
• Supervise staff across planning, zoning, building inspections and code enforcement.
• Prepare and administer annual operating and capital budgets.
• Oversee land use planning, zoning administration, and development permitting.
