Summary

The Director of Development & Engagement leads all functions inside the engagement team and is accountable for the successful delivery of positive participant interactions, cost effective operations, participant retention, and organic growth within existing accounts. The Director is responsible for creating and implementing well-developed strategic plans that drive participant satisfaction, explore additional service opportunities, and increase Contexture’s value proposition.

The Director will anticipate the business needs of Contexture’s largest and most valuable accounts and will deliver measurable, customer‑centric solutions while working cross‑functionally with other departments. The right sales strategies are implemented to achieve the company’s mission and ongoing business objectives. The Director manages strategic accounts and partnerships and works with the Engagement Managers to close opportunities in their territories when generated through strategic relationships. The Director of Development & Engagement works closely with the Directors in other markets to identify potential up‑sell and referral opportunities that bring increased value to the participant.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Actively develop and manage a business development strategy.
  • Identify opportunities for the organization to leverage cross‑program strengths to take advantage of new opportunities and/or to address organizational challenges.
  • Lead the team to meet annual sales goals and meet individual sales goals.
  • Managing the engagement strategy.
  • Managing and monitoring the engagement budget.
  • Providing regular reporting on the engagement performance.
  • In collaboration with the Vice President, Business Development, and other departments, supports the design of a master annual plan and budget that drives department activities, focus areas and initiatives, and uses targets to assess performance and effectiveness of engagement strategies.
  • Incorporates market research data, tools, and formal/informal customer feedback and collaborates with all Business Development to open additional opportunities.
  • Accountable for the development and delivery of new ways to expand upon current participant contract scope.
  • May interact with vendors and other entities that effect the ability of a participant to share information and/or participate in the HIE.
  • Develops and implements strategies for retaining and re‑engaging staff, providers, organizations, and facilities that experience barriers or lack of satisfaction with their use of services.
  • Works collaboratively with Client Support Services to problem solve identified issues, conduct outreach and satisfaction sessions, and delivers provider technical assistance to resolve barriers that prevent participants from making full use of the HIE.
  • Work directly with the operations team to develop workflows and transition processes to provide a seamless experience for participants from pre‑sales, contracting, alignment with finance procedures and post‑sale client management.
  • Responsible for maintaining a deep understanding of customer needs and behaviors and developing engagement strategies that encourage increased participation in the HIE.
  • Works within Business Development Team to ensure all staff are oriented to priorities of the annual account management plan and associated initiatives and campaigns, including regular team updates on account management progress and activities and coordinates with Communications and Marketing to create targeted messaging when needed.
  • In coordination with executive team, establish and maintain the sales strategy through account distribution, prioritization, and resource assignment to ensure high‑priority accounts have the proper level of attention and sense of urgency from account management and cross‑department staff and sales incentive program that meet the long‑term goals of the organization.
  • Assists with preparation of Sales related presentations and presents, as needed, to key internal and external audience.
  • Ensures that required report tracking activities and targets, accurate lists of participants and other standard reports are current and available.
  • Responsible for the accuracy and completeness of all data points in relevant systems as it relates to participant information such as contact information, organization status, provider type, licensure, excluded party status, and other key data.
  • Accountable for the credentialing/verification function for new and existing participants, ensuring accurate and high‑quality capture and documentation of network data, and supporting compliance with current regulations on information blocking, privacy and 42 CFR Part 2.
  • Provides Marketing and Communications department with accurate and updated information for use in marketing material, inter/intranet posting, and other publications.
  • Provides daily supervision and management of assigned staff to achieve goals of the Maintains allocated staffing levels including leading recruitment efforts, training, and on‑boarding plans for new and/or transferred employees.
  • Accountable for audits and reviews to ensure the quality of data and coding within the database according to Contexture provider/network credentialing standards and criteria.
  • Provide programmatic leadership and input for all strategic plan implementation processes as they relate to the company’s products, services, and sales with the leadership team.
  • Provide effective and inspiring leadership by being actively involved across the organization.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Skills
  • Strong program and project management skills and experience, including experience managing multiple, concurrent, high priority tasks, meeting timeframes, and maintaining quality standards required.
  • Strong background and understanding of a diverse range of healthcare providers and organizations with the ability to link their business and clinical needs with technology solutions.
  • Experience and comfort working with Senior Level executives.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and public relations skills, including the ability to relate to all levels of the user community and ability to prepare clear, comprehensive written reports and deliver engaging oral presentations required.
  • Proven ability to work independently including within remote work environments, as well as ability to effectively work in a team environment and maintain strong working relationships required.
  • Ability to plan, organize, manage, and prioritize multiple tasks and projects efficiently and effectively required.
  • Previous experience designing compensation plans for sales team.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate a sales team to accomplish project goals, including their coaching, development, and training needs.
  • Solid understanding of health information technology, health information exchange and EHR Meaningful Use preferred Ability to embrace change and adjust quickly to work demands and shifting priorities required.
  • Previous experience in creating campaigns that focus the sales energy in a direction that is consistent with overall corporate strategy.
  • Demonstrated success in managing a sales funnel and closing contracts for services.
  • Detail oriented, especially as it relates to documentation management, time management, project management and external communications required.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office toolset (Outlook, Word, Project, Excel, and PowerPoint required; Visio preferred).
  • Working knowledge of CRM tools preferred (Microsoft Dynamics-365, com, Infusionsoft, NetSuite, etc.).
Education/Experience
  • Minimum of 8+ years of experience in sales functions and/or program development and execution, of which a minimum of 1 year should be in program management over a team of sales staff.
  • Broad knowledge of a range of healthcare providers and organization types Familiarity with Arizona and Colorado healthcare landscape preferred.
  • Information technology experience required; health information exchange (HIE) and health information technology (HIT) implementation experience and knowledge preferred.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Management/Technology, Business Administration, or related field required.
  • Project management certification a plus.
Work Environment
