Job Title: Marketing and Development Director

(Full-time, salary)

The MISSION of the Flathead Warming Center is to save lives, link people to resources, and encourage dignity through low-barrier access to a warm safe place for those in need.

Job Summary

Under the direction of the Executive Director, the Marketing and Development Director is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Flathead Warming Center’s development initiatives including fundraising, donor relations, grants, marketing, our annual fundraising event, and more.

Responsibilities

Develop, execute, and evaluate the Flathead Warming Center's annual development plan, marketing plan, and fundraising budget.

Determine fundraising strategy for each of our donor segments (individuals, corporations, churches, foundations, etc). Systematically identify donors in each segment, cultivating real and meaningful relationships with each. Establish annual and quarterly fundraising goals by segment; evaluate results and discuss learnings with the board following each goal period.

Manage the Flathead Warming Center’s grants program. Research promising grant opportunities, maintain a grants calendar, write and submit grant applications, monitor grant progress, and prepare reports related to foundations, corporate and government grants.

Plan, implement, and oversee our annual fundraising event, a dance competition called Soles of the Flathead. This includes creating a timeline, agenda, budget, and marketing materials; soliciting and managing event sponsors; driving ticket sales and in-kind donations; arranging the venue and decor; lining up volunteers and vendors; etc. Recruit event committees as needed to assist in carrying out the event.

Oversee a Sponsorship/Auction contractor who will develop and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy to achieve financial goals for the Soles of the Flathead event, including donor cultivation, individual giving campaigns, corporate sponsorships and the procurement of auction items.

Develop and manage fundraising campaigns including The Great Fish Community Challenge, our InnKeeper monthly giving program and annual donation plea.

Assist with the marketing, branding and communications for the organization, utilizing experience with marketing, public relations, direct mail, internet and social media solicitation.

Develop and maintain donor records using DonorSnap; maintain an accurate database of prospects, individual donors, foundations, corporations and other donor segments.

Provide updates to the board on development activities as requested (may be monthly or quarterly)

Represent the Flathead Warming Center in a positive and professional manner.

Establish and document policies and procedures for the primary duties of the position, including:

- Fundraising Committee

- Gift Acknowledgement

- Plea Letters

- Stewardship Report

- InnKeeper Initiatives

- Gala mission and committees

- Website development and updates

- Social Media development and updates

- Newsletter

- Marketing, Development, and Grant Work Calendar

Complete other duties as assigned by the Executive Director, which may include executive correspondence, outreach / awareness activities, public relations, marketing, social media and website management.

Collaborate closely with other Flathead Warming Center team members and third party providers.
