Job summary

NEADS Service Dogs is seeking a Director of Development to lead fundraising growth with a focus on major gifts, donor relations, and strategic partnerships. The role will oversee a four-person team and drive revenue expansion through individual and foundation giving, corporate partnerships, and events.

You will leverage data-driven decisions and Salesforce to optimize fundraising strategies, while engaging the board and CEO in high-impact campaigns.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive fundraising leadership experience.
• Proven record of closing major gifts and achieving fundraising goals.
• Knowledge of the Massachusetts/New England philanthropic landscape.
• Exceptional relationship builder and storyteller.
• Leads with emotional intelligence and develops high-performing teams.
• Uses data and Salesforce to drive fundraising decisions.
• Entrepreneurial, strategic, and willing to try something new.
• Genuinely passionate about NEADS mission and human-canine bond.

Responsibilities

• Lead a four-person development team.

• Coordinate 1–2 annual fundraising events.
• Oversee Salesforce, development analytics & pipeline management.

• Expand NEADS' philanthropic relationships across Boston, Worcester & New England.

NEADS Service Dogs is looking for a Director of Development to lead the next chapter of our fundraising growth.

This is more than a development position. It’s an opportunity to build relationships, grow revenue, lead a team, and directly expand the number of people whose lives can be transformed by a Service Dog.

Located in Princeton, MA, NEADS is a nationally recognized nonprofit that trains and provides Service Dogs for people with disabilities, veterans with PTSD, children with autism, and professionals in hospitals, courthouses, and educational settings.

What you'll lead:

• A four-person development team
• Individual, major gift, foundation & corporate fundraising
• A growing donor pipeline and major gift strategy
• Corporate partnerships and sponsorships
• 1–2 annual fundraising events
• Salesforce, development analytics & pipeline management
• Board and CEO engagement in fundraising
• Expansion of NEADS' philanthropic relationships throughout Boston, Worcester & New England

We're looking for someone who:

Starting salary: $125,000
