Fayetteville State University in North Carolina is seeking a Director of Development to build and manage a major gifts program. You will oversee a portfolio of 75–100 prospects and work with colleagues across campus to align philanthropic priorities with university initiatives.
Regular travel, visits to donors, and leadership of the major gifts team are required. A bachelor’s degree with 3+ years in higher education fundraising is expected, with strong communication and organizational skills.

Primary Purpose of the Organization:
The Division of University Advancement serves to connect external parties with opportunities to partner, support, and participate with Fayetteville State University and its programming. The division is responsible for all development and fundraising-related activities and the planning and organization of university programs. The division is organized to conduct the following functions: Major gifts solicitations, annual giving, planned giving, corporate and foundation giving, alumni relations, donor relations, capital campaign planning and implementation, processing and acknowledgment of gifts, career services activities, and donor research.
Primary Purpose of the Position:
Develops charitable support for Fayetteville State University and the FSU Foundation, Inc. The Director will be expected to manage a portfolio of discovery and actively managed prospects while also collaborating with colleagues across campus. Works closely with the Associate Vice Chancellor for Development in providing leadership to the major gifts team.
