Primary Purpose of the Organization:

The Division of University Advancement serves to connect externalparties with opportunities to partner, support, and participatewith Fayetteville State University and its programming. Thedivision is responsible for all development and fundraising-relatedactivities and the planning and organization of universityprograms. The division is organized to conduct the followingfunctions: Major gifts solicitations, annual giving, plannedgiving, corporate and foundation giving, alumni relations, donorrelations, capital campaign planning and implementation, processingand acknowledgment of gifts, career services activities, and donorresearch.

Primary Purpose of the Position:

Develops charitable support for Fayetteville State University andthe FSU Foundation, Inc. The Director will be expected to manage aportfolio of discovery and actively managed prospects while alsocollaborating with colleagues across campus. Works closely with theAssociate Vice Chancellor for Development in providing leadershipto the major gifts team.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Minimum Education And Experience Requirements:

  • Position requires a bachelor’s degree in any field with aminimum of 3 years of experience in higher education fundraising,non-profit fundraising, sales, marketing, or another relatedfield
  • Demonstrated understanding of higher education fundraising bestpractices
  • Experience managing and motivating advancement/alumni relationsor sales professionals
  • Significant willingness to take personal initiative and anability to work effectively with minimal supervision
