The Director will work with finance and program staff, help with budgeting, organize virtual events, and ensure philanthropy efforts align with JASC's mission to serve a multicultural community in Chicago.
For 80 years the Japanese American Service Committee (JASC) has served a multicultural community through innovative, high-quality cultural programs and social services like adult day services and home support services caring for the most vulnerable in the community. The organization maintains the Legacy Center Archives and Library, a community resource that collects and preserves materials from WWII Internment Camp experiences and the Japanese American community in Chicago.
The Director of Development is focused on supporting and advancing JASC’s fundraising and resource development efforts. Day-to-day responsibilities include assisting with the planning and execution of fundraising campaigns, cultivating and stewarding donor relationships, and supporting strategies for annual and planned giving. The Director will prepare development materials such as proposals, reports, and donor communications, as well as assist with budgeting and tracking contributions in coordination with finance and program staff. The role may also involve researching prospective donors, organizing virtual fundraising events, and collaborating with JASC leadership to align philanthropy initiatives with the organization’s mission and programs.
