Job summary

MBH Architects is seeking a Design Technology Director to shape and lead BIM, digital design, and technology infrastructure. The role partners with firm leadership to execute technology strategy while guiding a team supporting project delivery.

You will oversee digital standards, computational design workflows, and VR/AR efforts, ensuring data health and security across complex models. Hybrid work and growth opportunities are provided.

Qualifications

• Senior technology leadership experience managing a design technology team.
• Deep experience in the AEC industry and architectural/engineering workflows.
• Proven BIM leadership including BEPs and large-scale model exchanges.
• Strong technical, verbal, and written communication translating complex tech to non-technical staff.
• Proficiency with core AEC tools: Revit, Rhino, Navisworks; familiarity with visual programming.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute design technology strategy and software integration plans.
• Oversee Design Technology and BIM staff, providing mentorship and resource allocation.
• Own digital standards: templates, execution plans, automation workflows.
• Lead digital twin, VR/AR, and environmental simulation efforts for project delivery.
• Drive computational design workflows and emerging tech tools.
• Support IT infrastructure deployment and tech risk assessment with PM teams.
• Research and present on target technologies and AI integrations.
• Evaluate and improve tools, ensuring interoperability and data health.
• Ensure data security and perform digital audits across models.
• Drive adoption of design tech and train teams on new tools.
