Ellaway Blues Consulting seeks an experienced Director of Design & Drafting to lead a CAD team and drive excellence in configuration management, drafting, and documentation for a fast-paced energy solutions environment.

In this role you will oversee Creo and Windchill, ensure compliance with industry standards, manage BOMs, support ECRs and NCRs, and collaborate across engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and quality to achieve aligned, high-quality designs.

Qualifications

• Proven CAD and configuration management experience in manufacturing/engineering.
• Proficient in Creo, SolidWorks, and Windchill PLM/PDM.
• Strong BOM management and engineering change knowledge.
• Excellent communication and collaboration.
• Detail-oriented with accuracy and quality.
• Fluent English (reading, writing, speaking).
• U.S. work authorization; no visa sponsorship.
• Ability to pass pre-employment background and drug screening.

Summary

We are currently seeking an experienced Director of Design & Drafting to lead a dynamic team of CAD professionals and drive excellence in configuration management, drafting, and documentation processes. This role plays a critical part in supporting engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain functions within a fast-paced and technically advanced energy solutions environment.

Director of Design & Drafting Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate CAD activities for complex rotating equipment.
• Oversee the creation, modification, and management of models and drawings using Creo and Windchill PLM/PDM.
• Ensure all CAD designs comply with industry standards, company guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
• Manage Bills of Material (BOMs) to align with engineering specifications, manufacturing requirements, and quality standards.
• Support Engineering Change Requests and Notices (ECRNs) and Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) from creation through execution.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and quality to ensure alignment and efficiency.
• Provide leadership, technical guidance, and mentoring to CAD team members.

Director of Design & Drafting Required Qualifications

• Proven experience in CAD and configuration management within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
• Proficiency with Creo, SolidWorks, and Windchill PLM/PDM systems.
• Strong knowledge of BOM management and engineering change processes.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
• Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and quality.
• Must be fluent in English (reading, writing, speaking).
