Job summary

Ellaway Blues Consulting seeks a Director of Design to lead a CAD team and ensure excellence in design, drafting, and documentation for energy solutions.

The role oversees CAD activities, BOM management, and ECRN/NCR processes, partnering with engineering, manufacturing, and quality to drive precision and efficiency. A strong emphasis on mentoring and cross-functional collaboration is required.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in CAD and configuration management within a manufacturing/engineering setting.
• Proficiency with Creo, SolidWorks, and Windchill PLM/PDM systems.
• Strong BOM management and engineering change process knowledge.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Fluent English communication; U.S. work authorization.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate CAD activities for complex rotating equipment.
• Oversee the creation, modification, and management of models and drawings using Creo and Windchill PLM/PDM.
• Ensure all CAD designs comply with industry standards, company guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
• Manage Bills of Material (BOMs) to align with engineering specifications, manufacturing requirements, and quality standards.
• Support Engineering Change Requests and Notices (ECRNs) and Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) from creation through execution.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and quality to ensure alignment and efficiency.
• Provide leadership, technical guidance, and mentoring to CAD team members.

We are currently seeking an experienced Director of Design to lead a dynamic team of CAD professionals and drive excellence in configuration management, drafting, and documentation processes. This role plays a critical part in supporting engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain functions within a fast-paced and technically advanced energy solutions environment.

Director of Design's Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate CAD activities for complex rotating equipment.
• Oversee the creation, modification, and management of models and drawings using Creo and Windchill PLM/PDM.
• Ensure all CAD designs comply with industry standards, company guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
