OVERVIEW: The Director of Data Strategy and Analytics is a senior leadership position responsible for defining and executing an enterprise-wide data and analytics strategy. This role drives data-informed decision-making, supports business performance advancements, and enhances customer experience across multiple business units, including retail, manufacturing, and services. The Director oversees architecture, governance, analytics, and operations of enterprise data and reporting platforms ensuring alignment with strategic business objectives. The ideal candidate is an exceptional communicator, with the ability to lead, influence, and align cross functional teams and stakeholders by promoting a culture of data innovation and compliance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop and execute a comprehensive data and analytics strategy that drives revenue growth, improves operational efficiency, and enhances business insights across all subsidiaries.
• Own the architecture and operations of Company data platforms using industry leading tools.
• Own the tactical and strategic planning for data and analytics systems, including capacity planning, lifecycle management, and technology roadmaps to reduce technical debt and enhance capabilities.
• Provide strategic direction to the Business Intelligence group, aligning BI goals in financial reporting and operational dashboards with enterprise data strategy to support leadership decision-making.
• Establish and enforce data governance, security, and quality standards to ensure accuracy, compliance, and consistency.
• Establish processes and standards to ensure high data quality, integrity, and reliability across all data and reporting solutions.
• Drive advanced analytics initiatives (predictive modeling, segmentation) across all business units.
• Collaborate with department leaders to identify data needs and deliver tailored, impactful reporting solutions.
• Leverage technology solutions to integrate disparate data sources, streamline data transformation processes (e.g., ELT/ETL), and provide timely insights.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and vendors to maintain a competitive edge in data management and analytics.
• Present data-driven recommendations to executives and stakeholders, translating complex technical insights into strategic business value.
• Manage vendor relationships, contracts, budgets, and strategic planning for data initiatives.
• Manage and mentor a high-performing team, fostering development, engagement, and collaboration.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

KEY SKILLS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, MIS, or related field (or equivalent experience with advanced certifications), advanced degree in a related field is a plus.
• 10+ years in enterprise data and analytics roles, including 5+ years in leadership and successful team management
• Proven experience with modern data tools and platforms (SQL, Snowflake, Qlik, ELT/ETL, etc.) and a strong understanding of compliance standards (SOX, GLBA, GDPR, etc.) and data security best practices in a regulated environment.
