Job summary

Capital One is seeking a Director, Data Management Advisor to apply risk management and data expertise within the enterprise Risk organization (TDRM). You will partner across the enterprise to identify data risk, develop mitigation solutions, and communicate the current state and future direction of data management risk maturity to senior leaders.

The role involves leading data governance activities, advising business partners, and collaborating with data officers and risk teams to drive risk

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or military experience.
• At least 5 years of experience in data governance.
• At least 5 years of experience in risk management.
• At least 5 years of experience supporting, partnering or interacting with internal business clients.

Responsibilities

• Provide oversight to data AEs and stewards across the enterprise, document issues and risks, and create recommendations to ensure progress towards organizational adoption of data management principles and practices.
• Provide effective challenge by identifying opportunities and influencing business stakeholders and partners to embed data management principles into controls, business processes, platforms, tools, and strategic initiatives across the organization.
• Become a trusted advisor to the business partners providing insight and risk mitigation on data management.
• Use data and analytical skills to conduct risk assessments and utilize data management metrics and insights to influence senior business leaders.
• Collaborate within EDRM and with our 2nd line partners on areas of metadata management, data quality management, data governance, and data stewardship functions.
