Job summary

Vizient is seeking a senior leader to shape and execute the enterprise data platform strategy, focusing on Azure Databricks, SQL Server, and related Azure data technologies. You will guide platform engineering, governance, and cost optimization while driving modernization across data platforms and Lakehouse migrations.

You will build platforms-as-products, enforce IaC and CI/CD, mentor engineers, and partner with Data Governance and Security teams to ensure resilience and scalable analytics

Responsibilities

• Define and execute enterprise data platform strategy and roadmaps.
• Lead platform engineering and administration teams for reliable, scalable data services.
• Drive Azure Databricks platform engineering, Unity Catalog, Delta Lake, MLflow and cost optimization.
• Establish Platform-as-a-Product practices, IaC, CI/CD, and self-service capabilities.
• Modernize data platforms and migrate workloads to Azure Lakehouse architectures.
• Establish governance, security, data classification, lineage, auditing and IAM collaboration.
• Enable analytics, machine learning, AI, and operational reporting capabilities.
• Define SLAs, monitoring, incident management, capacity planning, continuous improvement.
• Manage platform investments, budgets, vendor relationships, licensing, FinOps.
• Develop and mentor engineering leaders and teams for excellence.
