Job Summary
Join NTT Research as our Director of Data, AI, & Cloud Operations, where innovation meets advanced technology across AI, cloud hosting, data architecture, and operations. This role demands a unique blend of software development prowess, data engineering, cloud architecture mastery, and a solid foundation in AI, underpinned by robust DevOps and SecOps practices. The right candidate will be instrumental in architecting, developing, and securing our Connected AI platform, driving its evolution to meet and exceed the cutting-edge needs of our initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Data Architecture and Engineering: Design and enforce a strategic data fabric to support critical operations, emphasizing data security, warehousing, and optimized data flows. Oversee database management, ensuring robustness and scalability.
  • Software Development & Engineering: Engage in hands-on development, demonstrating proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++, and employing best practices in software architecture. Drive continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines for efficient software delivery.
  • AWS AI Strategy & Collaboration: Spearhead AI-driven projects in collaboration with AWS, leveraging cloud services to enhance AI functionalities. Utilize AWS, Azure, and other cloud platforms for hosting, scaling, and managing applications and services.
  • Platform and Operations Management: Manage Azure/AWS Kubernetes clusters, implementing monitoring, reporting, scaling, and management solutions. Lead the selection and implementation of cutting-edge monitoring and reporting tools. Enforce strong security practices throughout our infrastructure and platforms, using DevOps practices for efficiency & uniformity. Employ SecOps methodologies to protect data integrity and platform security.

Qualifications and Skills

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field is preferred.
  • Professional certifications in Data Engineering, Cloud Architecture (AWS, Azure), AI, and possibly in DevOps or SecOps, demonstrating a commitment to maintaining expertise in these critical areas.
  • Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in Data Engineering & Architecture, software development, cloud technologies, and AI, with a keen understanding of data architectures.
  • In-depth knowledge and practical experience in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++, and a strong hold on software development best practices.
  • Robust experience with DevOps and SecOps tools and practices, including but not limited to Kubernetes, Docker, Jenkins, Terraform, Ansible, and security tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with a capacity to lead and inspire cross-functional teams in a dynamic and innovative environment.
  • Documentation and Collaboration: Confluence, Jira
  • Infrastructure on Azure: VMs, Load Balancers, Network Security Groups, Storage Accounts, Key Vaults, IoT Central, Service Bus, Container Registries, Azure OpenAI, Cognitive Services (Text to Speech, Custom Neural Voices, Speech Recognition)
  • Security and Logging: PFsense Firewalls, Graylog
  • Kubernetes Ecosystem: K8s and K3s, Rancher management, Longhorn storage
  • Database Management: MongoDB Atlas
  • Containerization: Docker and creation/maintenance of container images
  • Operating Systems: Linux, specifically Ubuntu
  • DevOps Tools: git, GitLab, GitHub, ArgoCD, Sonatype NPM
  • Development Frameworks and Languages: Typescript/Javascript, Node.js, Electron, C++ with Poco libraries, Python, Vue.js, React
