About the Role
RYZE is seeking a sharp, strategic, and data-obsessed Director of Data & Analytics to lead our growing insights function. In this role, you will drive the strategy and execution of advanced analytics and customer intelligence to unlock growth across DTC, food service, and retail. You’ll partner closely with senior leadership to guide product strategy, marketing performance, and channel expansion through data-driven decision making.
You will oversee a high-performing team of data analysts, engineers, BI developers, and external agencies. Your work will ensure that customer behavior, channel performance, and operational trends are deeply understood and drive the future of RYZE.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and lead the Data & Analytics team, including consumer insights specialists, data analysts, engineers, BI developers, and external agencies
- Define and own the company’s analytics roadmap across e-commerce, food service, and retail channels
- Serve as the key thought partner to senior leadership on customer behavior, product strategy, channel expansion, and operational efficiencies
- Drive predictive modeling initiatives, including lead scoring, churn prediction, and LTV forecasting to power growth and retention strategies
- Develop and refine customer segmentation frameworks using first- and third-party data (e.g., RFM, psychographic, geographic clusters)
- Build models to define and continuously improve ideal customer profiles (ICP) across DTC, food service, and retail segments
- Translate complex machine learning outputs into actionable business insights for marketing and product teams
- Oversee development of a scalable data architecture to integrate insights across Shopify/DTC, Amazon, POS, and retail partners
- Partner with engineering to ensure reliable data pipelines, warehousing, and automated reporting using tools like dbt, Snowflake, and Looker/Tableau
- Lead the creation of actionable dashboards and reports across departments—Marketing, Sales, Product, and Ops
- Design and analyze A/B tests, cohort performance, CAC:LTV models, and sales forecasting across omnichannel touchpoints.
- Act as the analytics liaison across Marketing (e.g., paid media, lifecycle), Ops (e.g., inventory planning), and Retail Sales (e.g., sell-through analysis)
- Influence channel and product strategy with data-driven recommendations
Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree in data science, computer science, analytics, or a related field is required; a master’s degree is strongly preferred.
- 6–10+ years in analytics roles, with 2–4 years in a leadership position
- Experience in DTC e-commerce and omnichannel CPG environments
- Track record of partnering with growth, brand, and operations teams to drive results
- Exposure to food service and retail analytics (e.g., UNFI, KeHE, Nielsen, Spins)
- Deep fluency in SQL, data modeling, and BI tools (Looker, Tableau, Mode)
- Proficient in Python or R for deeper analysis and automation
- Familiarity with Shopify, Klaviyo, Google Analytics, Amazon Seller Central, and POS platforms
- Strategic thinker with a knack for simplifying complex data for non-technical audiences
