Qualifications

• Experience leading cybersecurity programs in early-stage or startup environments.
• Ability to translate priorities into documented plans and measurable outcomes.
• Strong written and verbal communication with specialists and cross-functional partners.
• Comfort organizing ambiguous work and documenting decisions.
• Willingness to build and mature processes in a small, evolving company.

Responsibilities

• Set direction for risk-based security, threat detection, incident readiness, and secure-by-design practices.
• Translate priorities into documented plans, decisions, and measurable outcomes.
• Build lightweight, repeatable processes for an early-stage company and mature them over time.
• Collaborate across functions to resolve dependencies and deliver complete outcomes.
• Identify risks early, recommend proportionate solutions, and escalate critical decisions.
• Maintain accurate documentation and handle information responsibly.
• Communicate progress and constraints clearly to teammates.
• Partner with Founder/CEO on strategy, budgets, and performance measures.
• Build the function's roadmap, operating policies, and future hiring plan.
• Develop future team members through coaching and leadership.
