About The Role

We are seeking a Director of Credit & Risk Management to lead and continue developing the firm's Credit & Risk practice. Reporting to senior management, the Director will be responsible for client delivery, team leadership, practice performance, and the continued development of the vertical. The role requires a senior credit professional who combines strong technical judgment with client leadership, operational discipline, and the ability to manage a business function. The Credit & Risk practice supports lenders, credit funds, investment managers, and other institutional clients across credit administration, borrowing base and covenant monitoring, portfolio and collateral oversight, due diligence and field examinations, backup servicing, and related credit and risk engagements.

What You'll Do

  • Serve as a senior advisor and escalation point for clients on complex credit, collateral, portfolio, and operational matters.
  • Provide technical leadership and judgment across engagements, including review of significant analyses, findings, recommendations, and client deliverables.
  • Manage the existing Credit & Risk team while leading, mentoring, and developing professionals and overseeing staffing, workloads, priorities, and performance.
  • Establish and continuously improve the methodologies, controls, reporting standards, and operating processes used across the practice.
  • Manage practice capacity, engagement economics, service quality, and profitability.
  • Identify opportunities to use technology, data, and automation to improve controls, efficiency, consistency, and scalability.
  • Work with senior management and Business Development to evaluate prospective engagements, develop scopes and solutions, and expand existing client relationships.
What You Bring
  • Deep experience in commercial credit, asset-based lending, private credit, specialty finance, banking, or related credit and risk disciplines.
  • Strong understanding of lending structures, borrowing bases, collateral eligibility and concentration requirements, financial and transaction covenants, and credit documentation.
  • Relevant experience across credit administration, portfolio and collateral monitoring, due diligence, field examinations, backup servicing, or comparable credit and risk activities.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise sound credit judgment and communicate complex matters clearly to sophisticated clients and senior decision-makers.
  • Proven experience managing client relationships, professional teams, and multiple complex engagements.
  • The ability to balance technical detail with the broader commercial, operational, and risk implications of an issue.
  • Strong analytical capabilities and advanced Excel skills, including experience working with large and complex data sets.
  • Experience with SQL, Power Query, business intelligence tools, process automation, or similar analytical capabilities is advantageous.
  • Approximately 10+ years of relevant experience is preferred, but technical expertise, leadership capability, and demonstrated judgment will carry greater weight than a specific number of years.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related discipline preferred.
