Job summary

Lionsgate is seeking a Director, Creative AI & Production Technology to lead the integration of generative AI across content creation, VFX, virtual production, editorial, and post-production.

The role translates multimodal models into artist-facing tools and scalable workflows, pilots new solutions with filmmakers and artists, and guides production-ready pipelines while managing the AI Strategy & Creative Technology team.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in film/TV/VFX or related media production.
• Experience leading technology-enabled workflows for artists and production teams.
• Fluency with generative AI and multimodal tools (image, video, audio, language).
• Knowledge of production/post-production pipelines and lifecycle.
• Proven ability to deploy new tech from experiments to durable workflows.
• Strong leadership and communication to align creative and executive audiences.

Responsibilities

• Set the creative AI and production-technology roadmap across creative development, VFX, virtual production, editorial, post-production, marketing asset creation, and adjacent workflows.
• Identify, prioritize, and lead AI pilots that address real creative and production needs, balancing artistic quality, workflow fit, business value, rights considerations, and operational readiness.
• Design and validate artist-facing tools and multimodal workflows using image, video, audio, and language models, with a focus on ideation, visualization, previs, asset development, editorial, and post-production.
• Partner directly with artists, filmmakers, VFX supervisors, production executives, editors, post-production teams, and creative vendors to understand pain points, test solutions in context, and drive adoption.
• Establish scalable pipeline patterns for AI-assisted creative work, including workflow documentation, quality controls, versioning, review and approval practices, metadata, provenance, and handoffs.
• Guide the transition from promising experiment to production-ready workflow, coordinating with Technology, Security, Legal, Business Affairs, Data, and external partners.
• Work in close partnership with the Internal AI Product Builder to define shared platform, automation, data, and integration needs while owning creative-production tooling and pipeline priorities.
• Lead and develop the Associate Manager, AI Strategy & Creative Technology; set priorities and create growth opportunities.
• Maintain an active view of the creative AI ecosystem, evaluating startups, vendors, artists, researchers, and emerging production practices; cultivate strategic relationships.
• Represent the AI office in senior creative and production forums, communicating technical possibilities, limitations, risks, and recommended decisions.
