Position Overview

DaVita’s Hospital Services Group (HSG) seeks a dynamic Director of Continuous Improvement to lead transformative initiatives across hospital-based dialysis and acute care operations. DaVita is committed to improving the quality of life for kidney care patients across the U.S., delivering over 1.3 million treatments annually in approximately 800 hospitals nationwide. HSG focuses on clinical excellence, operational efficiency, and innovation in hospital settings.

Location & Travel

Remote, home-office based with approximately 25% to 50% travel depending on project needs.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  1. Lead large-scale, cross-functional improvement initiatives within hospital-based dialysis programs and acute care operations.
  2. Manage high-performing project teams with diverse backgrounds in consulting, healthcare delivery, and project management.
  3. Apply continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma) to develop and implement solutions that enhance quality, reduce costs, and streamline workflows.
  4. Identify, structure, and prioritize strategic opportunities using a hypothesis-driven approach.
  5. Build and review sophisticated models to evaluate impact and support data-informed decision-making.
  6. Translate complex problems into clear, actionable insights and communicate findings through compelling presentations to senior leadership.
  7. Influence stakeholders across clinical, operational, and executive domains effectively.
  8. Allocate team resources to meet timelines and deliverables across multiple initiatives.
  9. Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  1. Bachelor’s degree; Master’s degree preferred.
  2. 5–10 years of experience leading large-scale business transformation teams with tangible impacts on operating and financial performance.
  3. Strong knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement tools.
  4. Experience with AI, standardization, and technology in healthcare.
  5. Excellent communication skills, with experience presenting to senior leaders.
  6. Proven ability to foster an inclusive, engaging, and empowering team culture.
Preferred Qualifications
  1. Graduate degree in a related field.
  2. Lean Six Sigma certification.
  3. Experience with design thinking.
  4. Experience leading or contributing to large-scale transformation initiatives.
