Job summary

Snap Inc. seeks a Director of Machine Learning to lead the Content Machine Learning Engineering team. You will set multi‑year ML strategy for recommendation, content understanding, production reliability, and experimentation, and mentor engineering managers and senior contributors.

You’ll collaborate with executives, product, and finance across multiple offices (LA, Seattle, SF, NYC, Palo Alto) to deliver high‑impact, scalable solutions for Snapchat’s 450M daily users.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent years of practical work experience.
• 10+ years of software engineering experience post‑Bachelor’s.
• 5+ years leading a large team at scale.
• Experience with ML, AI, and ranking systems.

Responsibilities

• Support teams solving technical challenges and build world-class experiences for Snapchat.
• Oversee day‑to‑day operations of Content ML teams across multiple offices.
• Develop organizational goals and roadmap for the engineering team.
• Collaborate with Executives, Finance, Product, and Engineering to deliver high-quality products.
• Influence architecture and implementation of scalable, reliable, cost-effective solutions.
• Build and scale high-performing teams and mentor managers, directors, and senior contributors.
• Iterate quickly while maintaining quality and operational excellence.
